the Doulos

The Doulos, it was said last year is her last voyage but surprisingly this year she came back .. Welcome back to Sabah :)

The Doulos is basically one of the oldest ocean going passenger ship which has been sailing for over 90 years, for 30 years she serves as Doulos, this ship has said to have visited for over 100 countries, and has welcomed for more than 20 million visitors on board, this ship will basically travels around and stop at one spot for at least 1 month, and the most would be 3 months, these day, this ship travels about 8 times annually to most Asian countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and etc. During that period of visit, there would have book fair, and cultural shows on certain night...within this ship, it contains about 350 crews ranging from captain, medical team, technician and even ordinary crew who serves as a volunteer from over 50 countries around the globe. Most of the collected funds from the fair would be used to maintain the ship, including the painting, engine maintenance, foods and expenses. Basically, this ship is dimension is 130.35m in length, 16.60m in breadth and design drought in 5.54m, it can fit to almost 414 passenger on board, and this ship is built in the year 1914, at Newport News, USA. The call sign for this ship is 9HKF and the port of registry is at Valletta, Malta. The main Propulsion Engine for this ship is FIAT GMT C4218SS, V-18 Cylinder, 4-strokes, with power of 5958 Kw (8100 bhp), runs in intermediate fuel, using Rink Reduction gear and fixed pitch propeller.
My 1st time ever to this ship , i was trying to get a different point of view of this lovely pic Thru my lens i see a different angle of this ship .. i hope u enjoy my picture :)
